The key to this dish lies in selecting the right ingredients that are fresh and simple, allowing each to shine brilliantly on its own.
- 1 pound sirloin steak, thinly sliced
- 2 cups cheese tortellini
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese for garnish
- Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Instructions
- In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the tortellini according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- While the pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Season the steak slices with salt and pepper, and add them to the skillet. Cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add butter. Once melted, add garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine. Allow the sauce to bubble and thicken slightly.
- Return steak and tortellini to the skillet, gently tossing to coat in the sauce. Cook for another minute to heat through.
- Season with additional salt and pepper, if desired, and garnish with Parmesan and parsley before serving.
